Job summary

Journeys in Jackson, TN is seeking a Sales Lead to support store management, coach a sales team, and drive store performance in a fast-paced teen fashion environment.

You will promote from within, work with a fun team, and contribute to a culture of integrity and customer-focused service while earning base pay plus commission and potential bonuses. Flexible nights and weekends may be required, with opportunities for growth within Genesco’s Journeys brand.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed store and personal sales goals and standards of performance.
• Assist in training and developing a successful sales team.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees by enforcing all company policies and practices.
• Perform all opening and closing duties according to company policy.
• Supervise and manage all aspects of daily store operations in store management’s absence.
• Supervise and manage all aspects of Loss Prevention practices in store management’s absence.
• Effectively communicate all store needs to store management.
• Complete all required training.
• Provide a fun, full service experience to all customers.
• Resolve customer issues effectively.
• Understand the Journeys culture and demonstrate it to the team.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Desire to succeed in fast-paced retail environment.
• Willingness to learn.
• Completion of all training programs leading up to Sales Lead position or equivalent training.
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts.
• Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Must be at least 18 years of age*
