Hardware Sales Inc. seeks a knowledgeable Retail Sales Associate to join our Electrical Department. You will assist customers with electrical needs, provide expert product advice, and ensure a positive shopping experience.

Your expertise in electrical products will guide DIY and professional customers through projects, from basic home repairs to complex installations, while maintaining organized displays and accurate inventory.

Job Summary

Hardware Sales is seeking a knowledgeable Retail Sales Associate to join our Electrical Department. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their electrical needs, providing expert product advice, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Your expertise in electrical products will help guide DIY and professional customers through their projects, from basic home repairs to complex installations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet customers warmly and identify their electrical needs.
• Provide knowledgeable assistance and expert advice on electrical products, tools, and equipment.
• Demonstrate product features and provide recommendations based on customer requirements.
• Address and resolve customer inquiries and issues in a friendly and professional manner.

Sales

• Engage with customers to understand their project needs and guide them to appropriate products.
• Upsell and cross-sell related products to enhance the customer’s experience and maximize sales.
• Accurately process transactions at the point of sale, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout process.

Product Knowledge

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the electrical products and tools available in the department.
• Stay informed about the latest industry trends, product offerings, and technical advancements.
• Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.

Merchandising

• Ensure that product displays are well-organized, fully stocked, and visually appealing.
• Assist with inventory management by replenishing stock and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
• Support promotional activities by setting up displays and signage as directed by management.

Store Operations

• Assist with store opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Participate in regular inventory counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the Electrical Department to provide a welcoming shopping environment.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with other associates and department managers to achieve sales targets and customer satisfaction goals.
• Provide support to other departments as needed, ensuring smooth store operations.

Computer Systems

• You will need to be comfortable with computers and able to navigate multiple programs for inventory management, sales, and ordering as well as doing independent research on products in your department.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in retail, particularly in electrical or hardware sales, is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical products, tools, and equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills for processing sales transactions.

Physical Requirements

This position will require you to be on your feet all day long, as well as lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, and bending. You should be able to lift 50 pounds from the ground as well as put heavy objects on shelves above your head. This job will require climbing ladders and going up and down stairs on a daily basis.

This role is regular full-time, non-exempt, hourly position.
