Job summary

Telluride Ski & Golf is seeking a retail cashier to deliver an exceptional guest experience while handling POS transactions, inventory tasks, and promotional activities. The role requires excellent communication, reliability, and the ability to work weekends and holidays in a fast-paced setting.

The position offers a base pay of $20.00/hr plus commission, with benefits including sick leave and ski-related perks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills essential.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also independently when needed.
  • Must be available on weekends, holidays and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a fun guest experience and answer questions about location, price, and merchandise.
  • Operate and handle cash register, process payments and returns.
  • Assist with inventory, receiving, tagging and shelf maintenance.
  • Promote products and participate in retail shop events.
  • Wrap or bag merchandise and manage end-of-shift cash deposits.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Know and enforce safety initiatives consistent with company guidelines.
  • Supports Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.
  • Adheres to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
  • Promote, support and understand all activities and events occurring on or off mountain.
  • Proficient in POS operations including opening and closing procedures.
  • Perform cashier functions: operate cash register; take payment and return correct change; process credit card payments along with returns and shipping fees as needed.
  • Provides a fun guest experience that exceeds members/guests expectations.
  • Receiving of goods, tagging, transferring.
  • Assist in Inventory counts as needed and re-counts.
  • Create pull-lists as needed and assure proper communication to warehouse staff.
  • Collect warehouse items and receive into store with accurate transfer in POS.
  • Prepare the shipping of product as needed.
  • Checks voicemail for new messages and returns any calls that are appropriate.
  • Assist with the promotion and execution of retail shop sales.
  • Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
  • Clean shelves, counters, floors and merchandise as needed.
  • Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
  • Wraps or bag merchandise for customers.
  • Removes and records amount of cash in register at end of shift and complete a deposit slip to drop off at a company safe at the end of each daily shift.
  • Refer customer problems and complains to manager or other senior staff member if appropriate.
  • Perform related tasks or special projects as assigned.
  • Promote products by wearing clothing lines while working in stores.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of or ability to learn point of sale systems, inventory systems, basic accounting, familiar with Microsoft Office, internet search engines.
