Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to be the primary contact for customers, stock shelves, and maintain plan-o-grams at one of its locations in the United States. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, and help with merchandising and cleanliness to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, displaying goods, and ensuring accurate checkout transactions. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Solid basic math skills.
• Proficiency with IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock shelves or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock.
• Assist customers in locating items.
• Operate cash register and bag purchases, handle payments.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners.
• Keep store clean, including front end, restrooms, and stockroom.
• Greet customers and comply with company policies.
