Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a customer-focused store associate to serve as the primary point of contact for shoppers, support plan-o-gram execution, and ensure stock is replenished and well presented on the sales floor.

You will unload trucks, stock shelves, greet customers, operate the cash register, and assist with displays while upholding safety and store policies. A high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandising guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open, unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise.
• Build and stock displays; rotate merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Clean and maintain store cleanliness and front-end area.
