Job summary

Jacks Small Engines in Jarrettsville, MD is seeking a Sales Associate to support store management with daily operations and drive sales. You will assist customers, identify needs, demonstrate products, and help maintain a clean, welcoming sales floor.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of related retail sales experience.
• Knowledge of and/or experience within the Lawn & Garden industry.
• Strong customer service, decision and problem-solving skills.
• Have a positive attitude, be energetic, and service focused.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Must exhibit strong leadership and sound decision making qualities.
• Must be willing to work weekends.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrates Northern Tool + Equipment’s 12 Core Competencies.

Responsibilities

• Assists all customers in a professional, courteous, reliable manner.
• Identifies customer needs and provides knowledgeable assistance.
• Demonstrates and explains products to promote sales.
• Remains informed on all new and existing products.
• Closes the sale with a customer and suggests add-ons.
• Helps customers with loading as needed.
• Maintains a neat, orderly sales environment and merchandising standards.
• Processes special orders and informs customers when merchandise is in.
• Supports telemarketing sales activities as required.
• Protects the store against theft or other suspicious activity.
• Participates in inventories, meetings, trade shows and events.
