Job summary

Lovepop is seeking a Key Holder for our Hudson Yards store to open/close, lead by example, and turn ordinary afternoons into memorable shopping experiences.

You will engage customers, demonstrate products, and work toward achievable sales goals while maintaining delightful store presentation. Growth opportunities exist as we expand to new locations nationwide.

Qualifications

• Warm, outgoing presence that makes customers feel welcome quickly.
• Strong communication and storytelling to engage customers.
• Self-motivation and reliability to lead by example.
• Retail, sales or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to stand 4–8 hour shifts and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers with a friendly greeting as they enter the store.

There's a moment when someone opens a Lovepop card for the first time.

The paper lifts, a cherry blossom or a carousel or a dinosaur unfolds in their hands, and their whole expression changes. Creating that moment is the heart of this job. Lovepop designs intricate, hand-assembled pop-up cards and paper sculptures. Our mission is to create one billion magical moments, and our retail stores are where most of them happen. We’re hiring a Key Holder for our Hudson Yards location (20 Hudson Yards, New York, NY 10001 ) — someone who can open and close the store, lead by example, and turn an ordinary afternoon into a great sales day.

Responsibilities

Customer Experience

• Engage: Greet customers as soon as they walk through the door with a friendly, welcoming demeanor.
• Personalize: Listen to customers’ needs and preferences, tailoring your interactions to make their visit memorable.
• Follow Up: Encourage customers to return by sharing new products, upcoming promotions and our loyalty program.

Product Enthusiasm

• Demonstrate: Actively show customers how our products work and the stories behind them.
• Inspire: Share your own excitement for Lovepop products, creating contagious energy in the store.
• Educate: Provide detailed information about product features and benefits, and answer any question with confidence.

Sales Goals

• Initiate Sales: Approach customers proactively and help them find products they love.
• Upsell: Identify opportunities to suggest additional products that complement a customer’s initial selection.
• Track Progress: Review sales targets and performance regularly, adjusting your approach as needed to hit them.

Customer Assistance

• Consult: Listen closely to customers’ needs and offer thoughtful product recommendations.
• Problem-Solve: Address any concerns or questions so every customer leaves satisfied.
• After-Sale Service: Make sure customers know how to care for their purchase and leave feeling valued.

Store Presentation

• Visual Merchandising: Maintain attractive, well-organized displays that capture customer interest.
• Cleanliness: Ensure the store is clean, tidy and inviting at all times.
• Stock Management: Replenish stock regularly so customers always find their favorite products. Shift

• Open & Close: Open and close the store, set the floor for the day and close it out correctly.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

$18 - $20 an hour

• Hourly rate is based on experience
