Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a store associate to be the friendly point of contact for customers, stock merchandise, and assist in maintaining plan-o-grams. You will also help customers locate products and operate the cash register to complete transactions.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, setting up displays, stocking shelves, and ensuring a clean, organized store. A high school diploma is preferred and safety procedures must be followed.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves; face stock.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners, as needed.
• Keep front end clean and set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
