Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to serve as the primary customer contact, help set and maintain plan-o-grams, stock merchandise, and ensure a clean, safe store environment. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, and support merchandising initiatives across the floor.

As part of daily duties, you will unload trucks, receive deliveries, build displays, rotate stock, and help with sidewalk displays when needed. Prior experience in retail is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety routines (dust, mop, restrooms, stockroom).
• Greet customers; comply with policies and procedures.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
