Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a merchandise associate to act as the primary contact for customers, stock and maintain plan‑o‑grams, and ensure the store is clean and organized. You will unload shipments, stock shelves, build displays, greet customers, and process transactions at the register.

The role requires basic math, cash handling, safety awareness, and the ability to follow plan‑o‑gram guidelines. Prior retail experience is helpful, and relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Requires good interpersonal and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to read plan-o-gram guides and follow merchandise presentation.
• Basic math for transactions and making change.
• Proficient in using a cash register system.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock in backroom or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and arrange products.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves; face items.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Clean store areas; take out trash; mop floors; clean restrooms and stockroom.
• Greet customers and comply with policies.
• Operate cash register; total purchases; bag merchandise and collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using scanners.
• Clean front end and assist with sidewalk displays.
