Job summary

Dollar General in Gasport, NY is seeking a Sales Associate to be a friendly point of contact for customers, help them locate and purchase merchandise, operate the cash register, and keep the store stocked and clean to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

You will greet customers, ring up purchases, follow merchandise displays and plan-o-gram guidance, assist with loading and unloading, and work in a fast-paced environment while protecting company assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with friendliness and courtesy.
• Operate cash register and scanner; itemize and total purchases, collect payment, make change, bag merchandise.
• Follow merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate products; build displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, and help set up sidewalk displays.
