Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Sales Associate to act as a primary customer contact, helping locate and purchase merchandise, operate the cash register, stock and display products, and maintain a clean store environment.

Role includes assisting with sidewalk displays, unloading trucks, and following company procedures to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while safeguarding assets.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment and make change.
• Unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, clean restrooms and receiving room.
• Help set up sidewalk displays.
