Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Sales Associate to be a front-line contact for customers, helping them locate and purchase merchandise while handling cash and maintaining displays. You will stock shelves, perform checkout duties, and assist in store cleanliness to support profitability and customer satisfaction.

The role requires good communication, basic math, and the ability to follow planograms and safety policies in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills required.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures and safety policies.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandising guides.
• Basic math skills are required.
• Experience with cash register functions is a plus.
• Ability to stock, display, and rotate merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, make change, and bag merchandise.
• Follow merchandise processes: unpack, stock, restock, and rotate items; build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store, remove trash, dust, mop floors, clean restrooms and receiving area, and assist with sidewalk displays.
