Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Associate to act as the primary contact for customers, assist with plan-o-grams, stock and display merchandise, and maintain store appearance. You will operate the cash register, handle transactions, and help customers locate items to maximize sales and satisfaction.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, building displays, cleaning and following company policies.

Qualifications

High school diploma preferred.
Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.
Basic cash handling knowledge.
Strong interpersonal skills for customer service.
Ability to perform simple math accurately.
Experience with cash registers is a plus.

Responsibilities

Unload trucks.
Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
Build merchandise displays.
Stock merchandise; rotate and face on shelves.
Restock recovered merchandise.
Assist customers by locating merchandise.
Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop; clean restroom and stockroom.
Comply with company policies and procedures.
Greet customers.
Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases; bag merchandise.
Collect payment and make change.
Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners as needed.
Clean front end and help set up sidewalk displays.
