Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Decatur, IL is seeking a friendly Retail Sales Associate to help customers, ring up purchases, and keep the store organized. This role requires reliable attendance and the ability to work a flexible schedule.

You will restock merchandise, maintain clean displays, and support team goals while providing welcoming service to shoppers and donors. This part-time role offers 19–25 hours weekly with evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or current pursuit.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately.
• Balance the register at opening and closing as assigned.
• Restock merchandise and maintain neat, easy-to-shop displays.
• Assist with sorting, preparing, and moving merchandise to the floor.
• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet daily sales goals.

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. We are looking for a friendly, dependable Retail Sales Associate to provide great customer service, keep the store organized, and help create a welcoming shopping experience for customers and donors.

What You'll Do

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately
• Help open, close, and balance the register as assigned
• Restock merchandise and keep displays neat and easy to shop
• Help sort, prepare, and move merchandise to the sales floor
• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized
• Work with team members to support daily sales and production goals
