Job Family Group: Retail Banking Sales & Service

Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identify customer needs and provide advice on financial solutions that are in their best interests. Collaborate within the branch and with BMO partners to enhance customer experience and meet business goals.

Regulatory Note (U.S. Only): This role may involve originating consumer loans as per Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act. A Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System is required. The bank will guide you through the registration process. A background check and credit review are also required, with restrictions on real estate agent activities.

  • Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects, conducting needs assessments to foster loyalty and identify opportunities.
  • Assist customers in completing needs assessments, recommending tailored solutions across banking channels, including investments, lending, and small business services.
  • Advise on digital and self-serve banking options to simplify customer banking experiences.
  • Support customer transactions based on traffic and needs.
  • Expand BMO’s business by outreach, appointments, and community relationship-building.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and lending policies during credit audits and quality checks.
  • Apply risk management frameworks to maintain portfolio quality and protect assets.
  • Make credit recommendations following sound principles and bank policies.
  • Collaborate effectively within the branch and market teams.
  • Understand customer needs related to personal banking and credit cards, integrating marketing initiatives into conversations.
  • Organize work information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Innovate to make each customer’s experience personal and memorable.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in the branch customer experience.
  • Support business results and overall branch performance.
  • Work at multiple branches as needed; schedules may vary weekly.

  • Analyze issues and determine appropriate next steps.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience; post-secondary education preferred or equivalent experience.
  • For Canada: Investment product sales registration completed.
  • Lending qualifications and designations appropriate for the role.
  • Knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions.
  • Experience with retail investments and lending products.
  • Comfort with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in customer service or sales, with a focus on personal experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including rapport-building and communication.
  • Ability to listen, solve problems, and adapt to challenges.

Salary: $41,715.00 - $63,700.00

Pay Type: Salaried
