Delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects. Identifies customer needs and provides advice and guidance regarding financial solutions that are in the best interests of customers. Works collaboratively within the branch and with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.
Additional Requirements:
- This position will act as an originator of consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the S.A.F.E. Act. Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry is required. The Bank will provide instructions on registration. A criminal background review and credit history evaluation will be conducted. Restrictions on performing as a real estate agent may apply.
Responsibilities:
- Engage proactively with existing customers and prospects, providing needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
- Assist customers in completing needs assessments, recommending tailored financial solutions and banking channels.
- Advise clients on digital and self-serve banking options to enhance convenience.
- Support customer transactions based on branch traffic.
- Build new relationships within the community, generating appointments and outreach.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and maintain accurate data entry and lending recommendations.
- Apply risk management frameworks to protect assets and maintain portfolio quality.
- Make credit recommendations for personal lending, including home financing, following sound credit principles.
- Collaborate effectively within the branch and market team.
- Understand customer needs, including credit card and personal banking, and incorporate marketing strategies.
- Organize work information for accuracy and completeness.
- Innovate to personalize customer experiences and contribute to overall branch improvements.
- Contribute to business results and customer experience in the branch.
- Work at multiple branches as needed, with flexible schedules.
- Follow risk and compliance policies to safeguard assets and privacy.
- Stay informed about financial services marketplace, legal, and regulatory changes.
- Maintain knowledge of banking products, practices, and trends.
- Report suspicious activities related to money laundering.
- Complete complex tasks within regulatory and policy limits, including handling escalations.
- Analyze issues and determine next steps.
Qualifications:
- Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience, with a post-secondary degree or equivalent.
- Canada-specific: Registration to sell investment products completed if applicable.
- Lending qualifications and designations.
- Knowledge of personal and small business banking needs and solutions.
- Experience with retail investments and lending products is an asset.
- Comfortable with social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
- Experience in customer service or sales, with a focus on personalized service.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Organizational and teamwork skills.
- Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
Salary:
$41,715.00 - $63,700.00
Pay Type: Salaried
