Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Retail PLM Architect with 12+ years of domain and consulting experience in the Apparel, Footwear, and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sectors. In this role, you will act as a bridge between business processes and technology, guiding retail clients through their Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) journeys.

The ideal candidate will possess deep hands‑on expertise in key industry processes—including Product Design, Techpacks, Sampling, Costing, and Sourcing—and a proven track record of working in collaborative, cross‑functional environments. While technical experience in top‑tier PLM platforms (such as PTC FlexPLM or Centric PLM) and IT service environments is highly desirable, a strong foundation in retail product development lifecycle processes and excellent client communication are the core pillars of success for this position.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Process Consulting & Requirement Gathering

• Collaborate with retail brand stakeholders, designers, merchants, and sourcing teams to analyze existing product development workflows.
• Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, aligning them with industry best practices.
• Lead workshops and discovery sessions to map \"As-Is\" processes and define future‑state (\"To-Be\") PLM workflows.

2. Core PLM Domain Execution

• Advise clients on optimizing core product development stages:
• Product Design & Techpacks: Streamlining the creation and management of technical packages, bills of materials (BOMs), and design handoffs.
• Sampling & Fit: Tracking prototype iterations, fit comments, and sample approval cycles.
• Costing & Sourcing: Structuring material costing, vendor RFQs, supplier selection, and margin analysis within the PLM framework.
• Incorporate industry-specific compliance, sustainability metrics, and quality standards into the PLM process design.

3. Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Change Management

• Facilitate seamless alignment between design, technical design, sourcing, production, and IT teams.
• Support change management initiatives, helping end‑users transition from legacy systems or spreadsheet‑based tracking to modern, automated PLM solutions.
• Conduct user training, create user manuals, and deliver high‑impact presentations to both technical teams and business executives.
• Participate in or lead PLM configuration, testing, and validation cycles.
• Work closely with technical delivery teams (solution architects, developers, and QA) to ensure that the configured system meets business requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in the Apparel, Footwear, or CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industries.
• Domain Expertise: Comprehensive, hands‑on understanding of the end‑to‑end retail product lifecycle:
• Design & Technical Specification (Techpack) development.
• Product Costing, vendor collaboration, and global sourcing processes.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Environment: Proven experience working in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional, and collaborative environment.

Preferred & Desirable Qualifications

• PLM Software Experience: Hands‑on experience or functional familiarity with market‑leading retail enterprise PLM solutions—specifically PTC FlexPLM or Centric PLM—is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• IT Services / Consulting Background: Prior experience working within an IT Service or Technology Consulting firm delivering Retail/Consumer Goods PLM solutions is a strong plus.
• Client‑Facing Experience: Direct experience in client‑facing consulting roles, leading requirements gathering or system implementations.
• Extended Supply Chain Knowledge: An understanding of downstream supply chain activities, including Factory Evaluation/Audits and Garment/Product Testing processes, is considered an added advantage.

Salary Range: The base salary range for this position is $130,000K - $140,000K. annually. Actual compensation will depend on factors including skills, experience, location, and business needs. In addition to base salary, this position would have comprehensive benefits & 401K with employer match.
