Southeast Health in Alabama is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist in dispensing prescriptions in accordance with Alabama state law.
The role requires strong English communication, a high school diploma or equivalent, and an Alabama Pharmacy Technician license with optional certification. Per diem, part-time schedule available, with duties including insurance adjudication, cash register operations, and inventory management to support patient care.
Retail Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in Southeast Health, Southeast Medicine Shop as dictated by the Alabama State Law.
Assist in preparation and safe dispensing of prescriptions (computer software inputting, counting, assisting with robotic dispensing), insurance adjudication and troubleshooting, providing high quality customer service, operating cash registers, inventory management.
Team Member: Manages all information obtained with strict confidentiality to safeguard patient information from use by unauthorized personnel. Follows Southeast Health’s safety guidelines for self, patients, visitor, and employees. Follows Southeast Health’s safety infection prevention policies. Independently handles communications in a manner, which decreases conflict. Demonstrates assertiveness techniques in communications. Practices effective stress reduction techniques. Seeks resources for direction when necessary.
Demonstrates responsibility for education requirements as evidenced by: Attending all annually required in-service programs, attending non-required educational programs relative to patient care responsibilities as available, and completing annual competency evaluation requirements. Completes assignments within specified time period or specified shift.
Minimum Experience: Preferred Retail pharmacy experience preferred.
Minimum Education Required: Must have high school diploma or equivalent Pharmacy technician licensure from Alabama State Board of Pharmacy.
Minimum Education Preferred: Certification preferred.
Language/Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to communicate effectively in an emergency situation.
