Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least 1 year as a retail pharmacy technician.
• Licensure: Active Michigan Pharmacy Tech license.
• Certification: Pharmacy Tech certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and collects necessary information to process prescriptions.
• Processes and fills prescriptions and medication orders with labels.
• Repackages oral solids, liquids and ointments in patient quantities.
• Operates and maintains pharmacy software and equipment.
• Reviews data for billing with third-party carriers.
• Generates reports and monitors medication trends.
• Maintains records and documents per state regulations.
• Communicates with patients and staff; routes requests as needed.
• Resolves problems with orders and refers complex queries to a pharmacist.
• Performs ordering, stocking, and basic dispensing tasks.
• Supports discharge prescription program on hospital units.
• Follows compounding procedures and keeps work areas clean.
