Job summary

SJMH is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Technician to provide delegated, accurate pharmacy services within the Health System. The role requires following pharmacist directions, processing orders, and supporting discharge prescriptions.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of retail tech experience, and a Michigan tech license; certification is preferred. Full‑time, day shift, on site at the hospital pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a retail pharmacy technician.
• An active Pharmacy Tech license through the State of Michigan.
• A certification as a Pharmacy Tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and Health System personnel to collect necessary patient information and prescription data.
• Process and fill prescriptions and medication orders, generating labels and documentation.
• Operate and maintain pharmacy software, automation, cash register, and related equipment.
• Review billing procedures with third‑party carriers and SJMH-related groups within time frames.
• Prepare medications and manage stock, including ordering and storage.
• Support discharge prescriptions and regulatory compliance processes.
