Job summary

Inova Health is seeking a dedicated Retail Pharmacy Technician 1 to join the team in Chantilly, VA. This full-time role operates Monday–Friday with rotating shifts, and Inova is a leader in safety and patient experience in the DC metro area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician in Virginia or Pharmacy intern license.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and dispensing medications and supplies.
• Cleans equipment and maintains all required temperature logs according to system policies and procedures.
• Checks medication and administration supply inventory for out-of-date products, removes products from inventory and records in Expiring Medication log book.
• Performs computer entry of prescription information including patient/prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation/entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
• Prepares medications for clients through mixing medications, counting pills, and labeling bottles.

Retail Pharmacy Technician J Ob Responsibilities

• Performs computer entry of prescription information including, but not limited to, patient/prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation/entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
• Prepares medications for clients through mixing medications, counting pills, and labeling bottles.

Minimum Requirements

• Work schedule: 8-hour shift (days/evenings rotating shift. Every other weekend.)
• Education: High School or GED.
• Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: One (1) year retail Pharmacy Technician experience.
