Overview Of The Position
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy Operations, Pharmacist-in-Charge, or Designee, incumbent is responsible for assisting pharmacy team members in the daily workflow of retail pharmacy including, but not limited to, processing and filling prescriptions for pharmacist verification. The incumbent must work with patients, pharmacy staff, and clinic staff to ensure the patient receives the highest quality pharmacy service while adhering to HopeHealth’s procedures and all state and federal rules and regulations.
Education And Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Must maintain Pharmacy Technician Registration or State Certification (preferred), in good standing, with the SC Board of Pharmacy
- PTCB Certification preferred
- 2+ years of pharmacy work experience required
- Prior customer service required
- Experience with PioneerRx Software preferred

Essential Job Functions
- Maintain professionalism and excellent customer relations
- Follow HIPAA, FWA, Compliance, and applicable laws
- Operate phone, POS, and drive-thru systems ensuring positive customer experience
- Fill prescriptions accurately for pharmacist verification
- Complete data entry for prescriptions
- Utilize automation and robotics systems as trained
- Promote and utilize specialty pharmacy programs
- Identify and assist with manufacturer’s copay cards
- Communicate with prescribers regarding refills and issues
- Initiate prior authorizations and document notes
- Set up autofill, delivery, sync, etc., as needed
- Process refills and communicate with patients
- Store payment information securely
- Evaluate patient profiles for refill synchronization
- Consult pharmacists when necessary
- Maintain workspace cleanliness and order
- Travel to other locations as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Collaborate on special projects
Physical Requirements
Hearing, speaking, and vision must meet job demands. Occasional lifting up to 10 lbs, with some tasks requiring lifting up to 30 lbs. Frequent bending, reaching, hand movements, standing, walking, and sitting are expected.
