Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of a approved pharmacy technician training program in Indiana.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required within one year of licensure.
• Active licensure in Indiana and state-required certifications maintained throughout employment.
• Experience in a retail pharmacy setting preferred, including new prescription processing, POS and insurance verification.

Responsibilities

• Receive customer and prescription information required to process new, refill and transfer prescriptions.
• Enter prescription information into computer systems, perform patient searches, prescriber searches, drug selection, and insurance verification.
• Answer phones and take messages for prescription requests and related pharmacy business.
• Manage customer flow and provide excellent customer service to patients and medical professionals.
• Retrieve, count, and bottle medications; dispense prescriptions and process payments.
• Maintain dispensing robot and select medications based on computer-generated labels and reports.
