Job summary

MercyOne Health System seeks a Retail Pharmacy Tech in Dubuque, IA for a part-time role (20 hours/week). You will greet customers, assist in-person and over the phone, manage inventory, and process prescriptions using dispensing software under pharmacist supervision.

Requirements include 18+ years of age, Iowa Board of Pharmacy registration within 30 days, and completion of Pharmacy Technician certification within one year.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Registration with Iowa Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of employment.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients/customers in person and on the phone in a professional and confidential manner.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, being a good listener and adjusting style as needed.
• Represent MercyOne Retail Pharmacies in a courteous, friendly, and caring manner.
• Operate cash register accurately, including cash, credit card, in store charges and payments on account.
• Assist with all aspects of inventory control: ordering, receiving, stocking, returning, and additional drug inventory control duties.
• Utilize pharmacy dispensing software to input patient and third-party information and process prescriptions following safety procedures.
• Package and label prescriptions for final verification by the pharmacist.
