Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Technician in Chicago, IL. The role operates under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and focuses on accurate medication distribution, patient assistance, and insurance processing.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technology program, and pharmacy tech license where required. 1+ year of related experience is preferred. Benefits are provided; date posted reflects an ongoing contract.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or its equivalent certification.
• Graduate of accredited Pharmacy Technology Program.
• PTCB or NPTA license preferred or as required by state/contract.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a professional attitude to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely distribution of medications processed through the retail pharmacy.
• Maintains the drug inventory and processes patient prescriptions.
• Processes insurance claims and maintains patient records.
• Assists pharmacy customers in person and via inbound phone calls.

Education

High School diploma or its equivalent certification

Graduate of accredited Pharmacy Technology Program

PTCB or NPTA license preferred

Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred
