GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary to perform successfully within the Retail Personal Banker role. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet customers' financial needs. The role involves acquiring new households, deepening existing relationships, lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. It also includes processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff.

Responsible and accountable for risk management by following policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience. The role requires identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks while achieving results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.
  3. Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities.
  5. Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
  6. Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, and contribute to revenue growth.
  7. Guide CSRs on sales and referral processes.
  8. Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and friendliness.
  9. Answer customer questions confidently and own customer issues.
  10. Maintain trust and confidentiality.
  11. Follow the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies.
  12. Open/serve Retail products following policies.
  13. Participate in loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  14. Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart.
  15. Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • College degree or relevant work experience.
  • Preferred experience in the financial industry.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities for new and existing customers.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration required at employment through NMLS.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Normal office environment.
  • Extended computer screen viewing.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training.
