Job summary

Michaels in Grand Forks, ND is seeking an energetic retail team member to coordinate events, assist customers, and support daily store operations.

You will plan children’s parties and craft classes, handle BOPIS and Ship From Store tasks, restock shelves, greet guests, enroll customers in rewards programs, and help maintain a welcoming, safe shopping environment.

This role requires flexible hours including nights and weekends, with a focus on delivering excellent service and teamwork.

Job description

Grand Forks, ND Store

Position involves coordinating events, providing customer service, and performing store operations duties within the Michaels store.

Responsibilities

• Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes. Engage participants aged 4 to 94+, instruct craft projects, perform face painting, and facilitate party add‑ons such as goody bags and balloons.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; respond to emails, phone calls, and paperwork. Adjust plans based on client feedback and create backup or emergency plans. Ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards before, during, and after each event.
• Assist customers with product selection, provide solutions, and offer fast, friendly checkout. Promote and enroll customers in the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Card. Educate on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
• Support omni‑channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). Participate in truck unloading, stocking, planogram (POGs) setup, merchandise recovery, and maintenance. Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
• Maintain store cleanliness through sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom upkeep. Cross‑train in Custom Framing selling and production.
• Support shrink and safety programs; adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain standing for long periods and move throughout the store.
• Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching. Lift heavy boxes and access high shelves via ladder or similar equipment.

Work Environment

• Public retail store setting, climate‑controlled public areas; some stock rooms may not be climate‑controlled.
• Occasional outdoor work (retrieving carts, truck unloading).
• Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press.
• Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
