Overview

At Office Depot Inc., the Retail Team Lead is a part-time role providing “total solutions” to our customers encompassing Products, Technology, Services, Furniture, and Print offerings. The Retail Team Lead will build and maintain customer relationships, becoming a trusted advisor by utilizing provided training to support sales. The role supports a customer-centric environment, engagement with the local community, and contributes to a positive culture aligned with the Office Depot 5C values of Customer, Commitment, Change, Caring, and Creativity. The Retail Team Lead demonstrates passion for the brand, technology products, furniture, print, and other services/products offered to customers. They will utilize Office Depot Inc.’s proven sales principles to proactively engage customers, drive sales, and assess customer needs to ensure satisfaction in every interaction.

Through enthusiasm and expertise, the Retail Team Lead helps create and nurture a vibrant sales culture, enhances visual and merchandising standards, freight, logistics activities, and prioritizes client satisfaction. The role also involves being a ‘Key Carrier’ for the location and performing Leader on Duty functions, including opening & closing responsibilities, with scheduled shifts accordingly.

The position may require periodic comprehensive background checks conducted by a third-party.

Primary Responsibilities

• Print Sales and Services:
• Support efficient operation of Print functions and drive store sales.
• Operate and assist with all equipment in Print Services to ensure correct and timely order completion.
• Utilize communication tools to coordinate customer service in Print Services.
• Operational Efficiency:
• Process merchandise accurately, adhering to procedures and visual standards.
• Identify and implement process improvements, reduce waste, and ensure loss prevention compliance.
• Support sales and profitability initiatives.
• Client Engagement:
• Enhance customer satisfaction through coaching and training associates.
• Support community outreach to retain clients/customers.
• Develop personal selling skills and product knowledge.
• External Key Carrier and Leader on Duty:
• Ensure safety and security during management absence.
• Perform opening/closing responsibilities, including activating/deactivating alarms and cash handling reviews.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1-3 years of related experience.
• Sales and/or Customer Service experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with technology.
• Skilled in Customer Service and Print Services desirable.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and selling skills.
• Adaptability, professionalism, attention to detail, and a passion for the brand are essential.
