Job summary

DC101 Dickinson College is seeking a dedicated hospitality team member to provide products and services to guests at its retail location. The role involves following proper food handling techniques, delivering excellent customer service, and ensuring a clean and enjoyable environment during all meal periods.

Job Summary

Provides products and services to guests at the assigned retail location, follows proper food handling techniques and recipes, delivers excellent customer service, maintains good sanitation and cleanliness practices, and ensures an enjoyable experience during all meal periods. Assists with training new staff as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide excellent dining experiences.
• Prepare quality products using recipes and all necessary equipment.
• Ensure the retail unit is well stocked, organized, neat, and clean.
• Operate the POS register and handle cash transactions.
• Perform cold and hot food preparation.
• Prepare non‑alcoholic drinks.
• Carry out general utility duties and assist in staff training.
• Follow HACCP guidelines, Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations, OSHA regulations, safety policies, and ServSafe standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of preparation areas, seating, and serving areas, and document HACCP information such as temperatures, times, and packing data.
• Assist guests with food allergies, special requests, and customized preparation, using a working knowledge of ingredients.
• Follow proper cash handling policies and procedures.
• Promote positive relationships within and outside the department through effective communication.
• Serve as emergency response personnel, reporting to work when the college is closed and responding to emergencies as needed.
• Assist the Retail Operations Manager as required.
• Perform detailed cleaning of retail units.
• Support special events and programs.
• Ensure a safe and inclusive environment is maintained in the assigned location.
