Job description

Merchandising & Inventory Supervisor

Staples – Inclusive, team‑oriented retail culture. The role focuses on sales floor merchandising, signage standards, inventory management, back‑room operations, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute product activities including truck unloading, sorting, stocking, and maintaining stock levels.
• Implement weekly planograms and seasonal promotional merchandising changeovers.
• Maintain accurate inventory controls (zero balance, return to vendor, returns to warehouse, cross‑channel returns, reserve online pick‑up in‑store).
• Deliver exceptional customer service and create an inviting store environment.
• Perform front‑end functions such as cashier, returns, and online reservations.
• Provide store leadership when scheduled as the “Manager on Duty.”
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Clear understanding of merchandising and retail operations.
• Experience leading and coaching a team and/or supervising others.
• Strong customer engagement and sales communication skills.
• Ability to handle many priorities and multitask effectively with limited or no supervision.
• Physical capability to lift, push or pull materials up to 100 pounds, climb ladders, and stand/walk continuously.
• Key holder experience within a retail environment (preferred but not required).
