Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Manager for SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA. This role drives merchandising and operational execution, including truck processing, planogram sets, pricing, and visual standards to ensure a customer-ready store environment.

You will lead truck and inventory routines, manage workload planning with store leadership, and coach team members to uphold SOPs and company programs. Regular nights, weekends, and early mornings are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading SOPs and Company programs to ensure legal compliance.
• Ensure execution of policies and standards with accountability for store conditions and results.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage to maintain floor leadership and service standards.
• Lead truck execution, unloading, sorting, and flow of merchandise to the sales floor.
• Own workload planning and daily task prioritization with store leadership.
• Execute and maintain in-stock routines (SISO) to drive replenishment and sales readiness.
• Oversee Planogram (POG) execution to complete merchandising sets on schedule.
• Establish and maintain visual merchandising standards and initial product presentation.
• Support a clean, organized store environment including backroom organization and floor recovery.
• Manage inventory control, ensuring product accuracy and proper stock movement.
• Execute ad sets with compliant signage and product placement for customers.
• Complete price changes accurately maintaining pricing integrity across floor and systems.
• Oversee Ship-from-Store fulfillment ensuring accurate picking, packing and shipping.
• Process RTVs and ASN receiving with proper inventory adjustments and documentation.
• Manage store damages procedures to reduce shrink and ensure proper reporting.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Partner in maintaining Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
