Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. in Janesville, WI seeks a Merchandise Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and delivering a positive shopping experience.

You will focus on merchandising and processing freight while upholding company standards. You’ll assist with day-to-day store operations, manage freight flow, stock merchandise, ensure clean and safe conditions, and help plan monthly sales efforts.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift and perform physical duties as described in the job duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, restocking as needed.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and associates.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Process receipt and return of merchandise (DSD).
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Stock merchandise including frozen & refrigerated per productivity standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective.
• Plan and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with items on promotion.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
