Purpose:

Partner with assigned customers to ensure they have the right products at the right time in the right placement.

Essential Functions:

1. Order products that align with the needs of the customer. Responsible for effectively displaying store products.
2. Maintain effective business relationships with customers.
3. Arrive promptly at customer locations on assigned routes for service.
4. Rotate stock and remove out-of-code products.
5. Process merchandise returns and issue credits according to company policy.
6. Ensure the neat and orderly appearance of UNFI products.
7. Notify customers about product and/or delivery updates.
8. Assist in hanging shelf tags and promotional POS/POP materials and resets.
9. Sell promotional and sales programs as assigned.
10. Follow HACCP and SQF policies and procedures, as appropriate.
11. Follow up on customer product requests.
12. Keep management informed of activities and concerns.
13. Attend meetings as required.
14. Provide backup for other field sales representatives when needed.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications:

• Valid driver's license necessary.
• Auto insurance levels that meet UNFI requirements.

Experience:

• Prior customer service experience in retail.
• System implementation experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Time management and attention to detail.
• Basic math abilities.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good judgment, especially when supervision is not immediate.

Physical Environment/Demands:

• Daily travel and vehicle access required.
• Ability to get in and out of a car multiple times daily.
• Drive safely in various conditions.
• Set up displays, fixtures, shelving, and products.
• Exposure to store and warehouse conditions including temperature variances, dust, and dirt.
• Lift up to 40 lbs.
