Batteries Plus is seeking a Retail Manager in Training at our Gresham, OR location. This role offers a clear pathway from trainee to store management within 6–12 months, with compensation including base pay, a monthly bonus, and performance incentives.

Typical total compensation ranges from $55,000 to $80,000 annually, with overtime and a strong benefits package. You will learn products, services, sales processes, and operational needs, becoming an asset to the branch manager and team.

Qualifications

• Minimum H.S. diploma/equivalent; advanced degree in business or retail management preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably within a durable goods setting.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Able to effectively manage confrontational situations in a controlled and courteous manner.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Flexible schedule to meet business needs, including peak seasons and multi-store locations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, determine needs & solve problems by asking questions.
• Sell add-on items, participate in retail store and commercial sales activities to achieve sales goals and bonuses.
• Operate technology-based Point of Sale & Product Look-up system to complete sales transactions.
• Inbound phone sales/service.
• Install large and small batteries in various devices, including cellphones/tablets.
• Inventory stock maintenance and management.
• Prepare the store for daily opening and closing.
• Build displays to better market seasonal products.
