Mint Cannabis is seeking a Retail Lead in Roseville, MI, to guide daily dispensary operations, train Budtenders, and ensure compliant, customer-focused service. The role bridges staff and store management to deliver an educational and compliant customer experience.

Applicants should have cannabis retail and leadership experience, strong communication, and knowledge of POS systems. The position requires availability on weekends/holidays and the ability to stand for long periods in a busy retail

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service or cannabis retail experience.
• 1+ year of leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
• Working knowledge of cannabis products and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store in accordance with company policy.
• Oversee daily dispensary floor operations and ensure staff are supported and efficient.
• Guide patients through product selection and deliver exceptional service.
• Mentor and train Budtenders and delegate tasks as needed.
• Ensure product displays are clean, labeled, rotated, and fully stocked.
• Handle customer concerns, assist with de-escalation, and support team performance.
• Operate POS systems accurately and assist with daily cash reconciliation.
• Maintain a clean, compliant, and professional retail environment.
• Support management with team communication, scheduling, and daily feedback.
• Supervises Budtenders and retail team members during scheduled shifts, providing coaching.

Position Summary

Retail Lead

The Retail Lead supports the daily operations of the dispensary by guiding team performance, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining compliance and organization throughout the sales floor. This role bridges the gap between team members and store management and plays a key role in delivering a positive, educational, and compliant customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to open and close the store in accordance with company policy
• Responsible for overseeing daily dispensary floor operations and ensuring staff are supported and efficient
• Must be able to verify allotments, guide patients through product selection, and deliver exceptional service
• Responsible for mentoring and training Budtenders and delegating tasks as needed
• Must ensure product displays are clean, properly labeled, rotated, and fully stocked
• Responsible for handling customer concerns, assisting with de-escalation, and supporting team performance
• Must operate point-of-sale systems accurately and assist with daily cash reconciliation
• Required to maintain a clean, compliant, and professional retail environment
• Must support management with team communication, scheduling, and daily feedback

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervises Budtenders and retail team members during scheduled shifts
• Provides real-time coaching and supports training initiatives

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service or cannabis retail experience required
• 1+ year of leadership experience preferred
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills
• Working knowledge of cannabis products, POS systems, and customer service best practices
• Ability to stand for extended periods (3+ hours) and lift up to 50 pounds
• Reliable transportation and a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Facility Agent Card (or equivalent license) if required by state regulations

Education and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• No specific certifications required

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend throughout scheduled shifts
• Must be able to lift and move merchandise up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate computers, POS systems, scanners, and standard retail equipment

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a licensed retail dispensary environment
• Exposure to varying noise levels, customer interaction, and cannabis-related odors
• PPE may be required depending on task or department support
