Job summary

Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) is seeking an Interior Designer to plan, design and furnish residential and commercial spaces. You will work with clients on style, scope, measurements and budgets to create beautiful, functional environments.

Responsibilities include on-floor selling, client consultations, in-home measurements and space planning, with opportunities for professional development and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field preferred.
• 3 years of retail sales experience; ASID membership preferred.
• Broad knowledge of furniture and styles preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Basic PC skills preferred.
• Proofreading skills preferred.
• Ability to work night and/or weekends based on business needs.
• Pre-employment screening including background check.

Responsibilities

• Sell: Circulate the sales floor and approach customers in a timely manner.
• Collaborate: Discuss with the client their style preferences, scope of project and investment plan.
• Plan: Provide in-home services to collect measurements for floor coverings, lighting, furniture, accessories and window treatments.
• Advise: Counsel client on space planning, layout and color coordination to ensure practical and esthetically pleasing designs.
• Present: Lay out all floor, furniture, lighting and budget plans for client approval.
• Order: Purchase furnishings, art works, area rugs, accessories etc.
• Follow-up: Reach out to the client to confirm satisfaction of all designer services.
