Job summary

Champion Home Builders, Inc. is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support our thriving Retail Division in Jackson, MS. You will partner with leaders on employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and HR policies across multiple locations to drive a high-performing culture.

You will investigate issues, guide performance plans, and help ensure compliance with labor laws while building strong talent pipelines and strategic workforce planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years progressive HR experience with ER, investigations, performance mgmt, and full-cycle recruiting.
• Experience supporting multi-location retail or fast-paced environments preferred.
• Proven ability to lead recruiting and onboarding across all levels; strong candidate experience.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems including UKG/UltiPro; solid MS Office skills.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and compliant hiring processes.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills; ability to influence leaders.
• Ability to handle sensitive matters with sound judgment and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders on employee and labor relations, performance mgmt, and engagement to support team effectiveness and business objectives.
• Investigate employee issues, document findings, and recommend compliant solutions and follow-up actions.
• Advise managers on disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations while mitigating risk.
• Lead full-cycle recruiting and onboarding for all levels, from frontline to leadership positions.
• Administer HR policies and ensure compliance with employment and labor laws; promote consistent HR practices.
• Lead onboarding, training, and development initiatives; coach managers on people leadership and employee experience.
• Maintain accurate employee records; support HR audits, reporting, and documentation requirements.
• Partner with payroll and benefits teams to resolve employee questions and ensure data accuracy.
• Build partnerships with retail leadership to support business needs and operational consistency.
• Analyze turnover, hiring, engagement, and employee relations trends to identify risks and inform decisions.
• Lead or support HR initiatives and process improvements to enhance the employee experience.
