Job summary

The Building Company is seeking a seasoned Store Manager to drive profitability and growth at our Worcester location. You will manage finances, procurement, stock, and merchandising while leading store staff to deliver exceptional customer service in line with company policies.

With 5–10 years in retail and 3+ years in mid-level management, you will plan budgets, oversee operations, and ensure health and safety compliance while upholding our values and culture.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 compulsory.
• Commerce bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Financial or management diploma preferred.
• 5–10 years of retail experience.
• Minimum of 3 years in junior-to-mid level management.
• Experience in the related industry.
• Strong financial acumen.
• Procurement and logistics skills.
• Merchandising knowledge.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act preferable.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability of the store by controlling costs and maximizing sales.
• Plan and budget with the Operations Executive and Regional Operations Manager.
• Procurement, stock control and merchandising to keep optimal stock levels.
• Maintain optimal stock levels.
• Ensure the store budget aligns with operating plans and monitor financial processes.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle complaints.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, administration, sales, and staff management.
• Conduct operational analysis to diagnose issues and opportunities.
• Inspire and develop employees to meet store objectives.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and corporate governance.
• Promote company values and culture.
