Job summary

Dick’s Sporting Goods in San Jose, CA is seeking team members to deliver exceptional service, help athletes select the right equipment, and guide customers to our golf services area for fitting and repairs.

You will greet customers, assess needs, and use product knowledge to recommend gear and services that enhance performance while maintaining store standards and a friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Golf industry experience preferred.
• Golf fitting experience preferred.
• Associates degree or technical diploma in golf preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with customers and gain their trust using diplomacy and tact.
• Direct athletes to the golf services area to meet their needs.
• Provide exceptional service to maximize sales through product recommendations and solutions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of vendor equipment including heads, shafts, and grips.
• Educate customers on club fitting and repair services available.
• Make equipment and accessory recommendations tailored to the customer.
• Assist in achieving store presentation standards and recovery processes.
• Promote store programs and adhere to safety and loss prevention policies.
• Maintain an inclusive in-store environment where teammates and customers feel welcome.

Overview

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Services

• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect by using diplomacy and tact; ensures that customers are greeted and acknowledged; offers customers assistance as needed or requested.
• Aides athletes by ascertaining their needs and directing them to the golf services area that most effectively meets their needs.
• Ensures each customer receives exceptional service leading to maximized sales by finding the right products, providing creative solutions, and resulting in dramatically improved performance
• Demonstrate knowledge of all vendors equipment including heads, shafts, and grips.
• Support store services sales by educating the customer on the benefits of club fittings and club repair services available.
• Make equipment and accessory recommendations tailored to the customer.

Operations

• Assist in achieving the store shrinkage goal by ensuring that all merchandise used for display is properly handled and accounted for at all times.
• Participate in merchandise sets, replenishment and recovery processes, pricing and signing execution, etc., to ensure that established presentation standards are met and maintained.
• Increase store revenue and profitability through a proven process.

Other

• Promote Company programs including but not limited to, ScoreCard loyalty, product warranty, private label credit card enrollment, etc.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures. Maintains confidentiality of all Company information.
• Maintain and participates in all recovery and cleanliness standards.
• Create an inclusive in store environment where everyone (teammates and customers) feels welcome, safe, and is treated with respect.
• Take an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team

Targeted Pay Range: $17.00 - $24.00. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered.
