Nebraska Furniture Mart, Inc. is seeking a Retail Floor Manager in Kansas City to lead and coach the sales staff, ensure proper staffing, and back the team in proactive problem-solving. This role emphasizes guiding growth, providing feedback, and maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
• 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
• 3 years of sales experience, preferably retail.
• Experience as an NFM shadow trainer preferred.
• PC experience with Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Decision making, problem solving, and time management skills.
• Professional appearance, positive attitude, sense of urgency, desire to grow, team player and caring.
• Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs.
• Pre-employment screening includes background check.

Responsibilities

• Manage staffing levels and monitor customer traffic and staff breaks.
• Assist sales staff in closing difficult sales and pricing.
• Train staff by scheduling training and leading by example.
• Observe staff and communicate expectations; provide continual feedback.
• Support staff and share responsibility for hitting division metrics.
• Report on goals and control expenses and turnover.
