Job summary

LG&P is seeking a Technical Writer / Instruction Sheet Specialist to turn engineering designs into clear, user-friendly assembly guides for our retail fixtures and display systems.

You will work with design engineers, project teams, and field installers to verify BOMs, create visuals, and maintain documentation throughout production. Travel to installs and job sites is a regular part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communication, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, English, Communications, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–3 years of experience authoring technical documentation, instruction sheets, or assembly guides (retail display, POP, furniture, or hardware experience preferred).
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed to install locations, client builds, and job sites.
• Portfolio of work demonstrating clear technical writing, image creation, and instruction sheet layouts.

Responsibilities

• Draft clear, concise, and visually appealing assembly, installation, and maintenance (R&M) guides for a wide variety of project types.
• Develop clear written copy and produce supporting visual images, diagrams, callouts, and photos to illustrate step-by-step assembly workflows.
• Design functional document layouts that combine technical instructions with visual imagery, safety warnings, and tool callouts following LG&P style guidelines.
• Cross-reference every part number, hardware item, quantity, and component description on the instruction sheet against the official Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Interface directly with Design Engineers and Prototype Teams to understand fixture assembly sequences, verify dimensions, and resolve design discrepancies.
• Track product changes, engineering revisions, and drawing updates to ensure documentation is updated throughout production.
