Job summary

Walmart is hiring a General Facilities Maintenance Technician in Richmond, VA to perform routine maintenance and repairs across Walmart facilities, equipment, and fixtures. You will work under the General Maintenance Manager, following schedules and safety guidelines to keep stores safe and functional.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varying temperatures. The position offers full-time hours, competitive pay, and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 18 years or older.
• Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
• Can move up and down ladders frequently.
• Comfortable working at heights frequently.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Able to work in various temperatures.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspecting, operating , or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely
