Job summary

Palmetto Goodwill in South Carolina is seeking a retail associate to deliver an exceptional customer experience. You will assist donors and customers, process donations, ring up sales, and help maintain a clean, organized store.

Qualifications

• Understand English; comprehend instructions provided in verbal and written form.
• Read and comprehend Retail Production and Training manuals; follow process instructions effectively and efficiently.
• Multi-task effectively; be able to adjust to frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events; be flexible and adaptable as work requirements change.
• Be a self-starter; work efficiently with minimal supervision after work instructions are provided.
• Thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
• Work effectively in a team-based environment; Interact professionally with customers and a highly diverse employee base on a regular and routine basis.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, and have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must have: Basic computer skills including use of various retail related systems, understanding of basic programs (Microsoft Word), etc.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers ACE to all internal and external customers.
• Acts as an ambassador of Palmetto Goodwill and I-CARE values.
• Embraces learning and growth; participates in training and development.
• Celebrates diversity and inclusivity; ensures team members feel respected and included.
• Receives donations from donors utilizing GRATIS process.
• Sorts, prices, and stocks hardline donations for sale.
• Sorts, tags, and stocks softline donations for sale.
• Uses point-of-sale system to complete sales; encourages round-up for mission impact.
• Records donations and production of merchandise accurately.
• Meets production goals in retail location.
• Maintains a clean work environment.
• Demonstrates proficiency in cashier or production roles.
• Reports security and theft concerns to management or Asset Protection.
• Complies with agency policies and safety standards.
• Maintains safety standards and reports exceptions.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by store management.
