Job description

Store - SIMPSONVILLE, SC

Overview

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids' birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by assisting customers in shopping and finding products. Ensure a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks such as truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards to uphold our Brand Promises.

Event Coordination
  1. Plan and coordinate multiple events simultaneously, including children's birthday parties and craft classes.
  2. Create an environment of fun and creativity, engaging with clients of all ages.
  3. Demonstrate and instruct craft projects, perform face painting, and facilitate activities.
  4. Implement party add-ons like goody bags and balloons according to company standards.
  5. Communicate effectively with clients and team members about events.
  6. Handle administrative tasks such as emails, phone calls, and paperwork.
  7. Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs; create backup or emergency plans.
  8. Ensure client satisfaction and uphold safety and cleanliness standards.
  9. Set up, clean up, and maintain the event space before and after each event.
Customer Experience
  1. Assist customers with shopping, locating products, and providing solutions.
  2. Provide efficient checkout experiences.
  3. Promote and enroll customers in Rewards programs and Private Label Credit Cards.
  4. Educate customers about Voice of Customer (VOC) surveys.
  5. Support Omni channel processes like BOPIS and SFS.
  6. Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes.
  7. Perform merchandise recovery, store in-stock optimization, and support safety programs.
  8. Follow SOPs and company policies to ensure compliance.
  9. Interact positively and respectfully with customers and team members.
  10. Cross-train in Custom Framing sales and production.
  11. Participate in store cleanliness activities and other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and personable.
  • Ability to handle stress and interact effectively with guests and co-workers.
  • Excellent people skills and experience working with children and at events.
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Stand for long periods, move throughout the store, and perform physical tasks like lifting and reaching.
  • Work includes nights, weekends, and early mornings in a climate-controlled environment, with some outdoor work.
