Job summary

Mechanical One in Orlando, FL is seeking a residential electrical service technician to diagnose, repair, and upgrade electrical systems directly at homeowners' properties.

You will read and interpret blueprints, follow safety codes, install and repair wiring and fixtures in new and existing homes, inspect components for safety, and communicate practical solutions to customers on service or warranty calls.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and interpret electrical layouts.
• Understand and comply with local/federal electrical regulations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
• 2+ years of residential electrical experience.
• Able to pass drug screen and background check.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders per OSHA.
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and upgrade residential electrical systems in homeowners' properties.
• Be customer-facing for service calls and warranty work; discuss codes and solutions.
• Identify issues and provide practical repair recommendations.
• Install and repair wiring, systems, and fixtures in residential homes (including new construction).
• Inspect components to ensure safety and correct installation.
• Read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints to locate wiring.
• Maintain safety standards on all jobs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Description

We are looking for a residential electrical service technician to diagnose, repair, and upgrade electrical systems and equipment directly in homeowners' properties.

• Customer facing for service calls, warranty calls upgrades to electrical systems. Code knowledge is a must.


• Identify issues and offer solutions.


• Installing and repairing electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in residential new construction homes.


• Inspecting components to ensure safety and correct installation.


• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, to identify where the wiring is or should go.


• Maintaining safety standards.


• All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Able to read and follow blueprints.


• Fully understands local and federal regulations for safe electrical system.


• Must be willing to operate a company vehicle.


• Must have at least 2 years of electrical residential experience


• Must have a Valid Driver's license and clean MVR report.


• Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.


• Ability to ascend and descend ladders and work in attics per OSHA guidelines.


• Self-motivated and driven to get the job done quickly and to the best of their ability.


• Good work ethic and willingness to learn new methods.
