Responsibilities

• Transport trash to dumpsters and maintain cleanliness in donation area.
• Keep donation area and backroom neat and welcoming.
• Follow safety procedures and report any accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Schedule flexibility to meet team needs.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.

As our Retail DonationAssociate, you are the friendly face of our organization, welcoming andassisting our generous donors as they bring in their donations to support St.Vincent de Paul. JOB DUTIES:

• Receive and Support Donations: Greet and assist donors upon arrival, help unloadtheir vehicles, and ensure they feel appreciated. Provide receipts for alldonations and maintain positive interactions throughout the donationprocess.
• Organize and Process Donations: Pre-sort and efficiently organize donations intoestablished categories. Check items for quality, identifying any defectsto ensure our customers receive only the best.
• Assist Truck Drivers: Provide support to truck drivers when loadingand unloading donations, ensuring a smooth process.
• Positive Team Communication: Foster a spirit of teamwork by consistentlydemonstrating positive behavior and effectively engaging with donors andcolleagues, while professionally communicating donation policies andprocedures.
• Problem-Solving: Identify challenges quickly and seek supportfrom management when needed.
• Trash Management: Transport trash to the dumpsters.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the donation area and backroom neat andtidy, creating a welcoming environment for all.
• Safety Practices: Follow safety procedures when handling equipmentto ensure a safe environment for yourself and your teammates. Maintain asafe working environment by adhering to safety policies and promptlyreporting any accidents or unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
• Flexibility: Work as scheduled, showing flexibility when needed to meet theneeds of the team.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Warm Welcome: Able to greet donors with a smile and make a great firstimpression upon their arrival at SVdP.
• Physical Capability: Must be able to stand, bend, and reach forextended periods, as well as lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 poundsregularly. Support is available for heavier items such as furniture!
• Machinery Operation : Ability to safely operate equipment such aspallet jacks, dollies, and walkie-stackers.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities and soundjudgment are crucial for success.
