Job summary

ActionLink is hiring a part-time Retail Merchandiser in Dekalb, IL 60115 and surrounding areas. You will visit stores to set up and maintain promotional displays, ensuring accurate placement and visibility.

The role requires proactive planning and dependable transportation. Typical hours are up to 20 per week, Monday–Friday, with no weekends or evenings, and there is potential for more hours on larger regions or travel needs.

Qualifications

• Prior merchandising or retail experience preferred.
• Ability to follow complex display diagrams and instructions.
• Comfortable working independently and with a small team.

Responsibilities

• Visit assigned retail stores to complete merchandising projects.
• Ensure proper placement, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of displays.
• Submit same-day digital surveys with photos and feedback for each visit.

• Store Visits: Complete projects at major retail stores within an assigned territory
• Purpose: Ensure proper placement, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of promotional product displays
• Clients: Represent global clients such as Microsoft, Samsung, T-Mobile, Dyson, Bose, and Intel
• Scheduling: Up to 20 hours per week; availability required Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. No weekends or evenings
• Additional Opportunities: Potential for more hours if covering larger regions or traveling
• Reporting: Submit same-day digital surveys with feedback and pictures for each store visit

Think you've got what it takes?

• Experience: Previous merchandising, 3PL, or relevant retail experience is highly desirable
• Versatility: Handle all levels of merchandising work within assigned territory
• Attention to Detail: Follow complex written instructions and display diagrams
• Independence and Teamwork: Comfortable working independently and collaborating with a small team when needed
• Tech-ready: Internet access, basic hand-held tools, and a Wi‑Fi/GPS enabled smart device with latest OS update. Laptop/desktop access is a plus
• Travel Ability: Must have a driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle and will be required to use it to perform the responsibilities of the role
• Physical Ability: Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and lift products weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance
