Job summary

Murphy USA is seeking a Retail Development Manager to advance retail fuel and convenience store development from site approval through entitlement, design, permitting, and construction handoff. You will manage scope, budget, schedule, documentation, risk, and contractual obligations across projects.

The role requires broad development and construction management knowledge, a four-year degree, and at least five years of related experience including two years in a leadership capacity.

Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of development management, construction management, engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a minimum of five (5) years of related professional experience, including two (2) years of management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of multiple active development projects across assigned markets.
  • Develop and manage project budget and schedule through design and permitting phases.
  • Coordinate site investigations, due diligence, and preliminary site design during feasibility and site approval.
  • Review due diligence reports (geotechnical, environmental, surveys) to identify risks and communicate findings.
  • Review contracts, leases, and agreements to ensure requirements are incorporated and phased per contracts.
  • Attend meetings with stakeholders, consultants, vendors, and agencies to communicate status and resolve issues.
