Job summary

SpartanNash in Genesee, Michigan, is seeking a department operations leader to run day-to-day activities in the absence of the manager. You will ensure staff are trained, inventories are controlled, and product quality meets standards while driving key performance indicators.

Responsibilities include coordinating inventory, reviewing orders, supervising stocking, and enforcing safety and cleanliness guidelines. Experience in retail, strong communication, and leadership are required.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED).
• 0-2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
• Good strategic planning and business acumen skills.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store.
• Order and maintain inventory in the department; ensure product freshness and quality.
• Manage a team responsible for stocking, production, and related tasks.
• Communicate weekly Flight Plan and align with company expectations.
• Assist in scheduling, labor control, overtime control, and payroll expenses for the department.
• Maintain a clean, well stocked department and uphold safety and food safety guidelines.
